Capitol Hill Shooting Exclusive

Filed under: Uncategorized — missvienna at 11:58 pm on Wednesday, July 15, 2009

An unidentified person was shot and killed by Capitol Hill Police. At 5:15, the individual had been pulled over for a routine traffic stop. After fleeing the scene and assaulting both officers, the suspect drew a weapon and was, “Instantly shot 10-15 times,” said an eyewitness.  After being transported to a local hospital, the suspect died and the identity still remains unknown.

At a press conference held by a representative of Capitol Hill Police, Kate James, many questions were asked, but few were answered. The suspects identity, gender, as well as reason for the routine traffic stop were withheld. Much still needs to be explained about the incident however the police say the investigation continues.

Hello again! Today was just another action — packed day while travwling with the WJMC. STaring out with a meeting at the National Press CLub, then moving on to a day touring the monumental Smithsonian Museums. my group, Team AWESOME spent a day under a hot Washington sun. Seeing various scenes, I almost felt as though I had traveled through time especiall when Jamie, Kate, and I began dancign outside the Smithsonian of American History to 40’s swing music! The days just keep getting better and I can’t wait until tomorrow!

Not just another day for a California girl….

Filed under: Uncategorized — missvienna at 12:24 am on Tuesday, July 14, 2009

Hi everyone! This will be my first blog so bear with me haha. Today stared out fantastic and only got better. The food here is amazing and the campus is so new and innovative  I am begining to consider going to GMU. After a long day of conferences, we went to the Newseum! I had so much fun and learned a lot about journalism in general as well as the capitol itself. Later after dinner, our group attended one last conference and headed to meet with our team leaders for debriefing. However, our team leader Lauren is amazing and after a quick overview of tommorow we watched the Bachlorette lol. Tonight was the first night the weather had cooled down, and so  some friends and I snacked on Munchies at an inviting picnic table outside. It was there that I befriended a nice young man named Tyler from S. Carolina, saw my first firefly, and was splashed down by a cotton candy slurpee. Today was a great contrast to yesterday in level of “funness” and I can’t wait until tomorrow! Peace from your California girl 🙂
